Poverty. What does it mean to you? What is poverty like in our world now? What is your attitude about poverty and what is the worlds' view on poverty? Is it a problem that will ever be solved in our lifetime? Will the greed of the rich ever subside to bring relief to the poor? Will poverty end because human charity will reign in all of our hearts worldwide? There is an answer to the problem of poverty but will it ever be enough to just know how to end poverty, if people aren't willing to give out of there riches to help those less fortunate then themselves? How can the problem of poverty be combatted if the priveledged do not move to action to eradicate it. What prevents them from doing so? Is it apathy? Is it fear? Greed and selfishness, why would someone rich and powerful give up there power their riches, to help others?

There is no excuse for poverty. It is a man made issue he doesn't want to come face to face with. So many turn around and ignore it. Some people choose to be in poverty some people are born into it and don't have the opportunity to overcome it. Because they live in a society that doesn't give them the opportunity to improve themselves. In the U.S. we do have the opportunity to overcome. Everyone should have the opportunity to have a job but that is not the case worldwide. Is it possible for there to be jobs for everyone in the world? I really do think so.

Could you imagine what a great worldwide workforce we would have if everyone around the world could be productive and have a job? Productivity and manufactoring would skyrocket if everyone could find profitable work to do. Why don't the CEO'S of the world see the great potential for growth if they were to expand there business ventures to more people? Yet, still many people in the world are still left in the dark and not allowed into global urbanization.

I've heard from a savvy business man that the heart of business is profit. But I think the heart of business is people. I really don't think the poor want handouts forever, to be dependant on the charity of others forever. Instead I think, the poor need profitable jobs. This should be a primary concern right now in the business world. Because alot of people are not living quality lives because they are limited by what they can do to better themselves.

The conclusion of the matter in my eyes is this...less talk and more action.

More jobs and less, selfishness. Less greed and more charity. Less over thinking and more caring, it does't take a rocket scientist to create jobs and give aid to poor people. It just takes a willing heart to give goodwill to your fellow man.
