Corporate Personhood?
Today was the first time I heard the term corporate personhood on www.realtv.com. I heard a couple of the speeches from the human rights activists and I sat and thought about what they are implying. hmmmm.
I asked my fiancee what he thought on the matter and he said. Well, by corporate personhood they are refering to corporate greed. hmmmm. I thought.
Corporations are the bad games in this game currently. The people all over the world are protesting! even in Spain their movement is called 15-M. Ours is the 99 percent.
So I'm wondering...who is protecting the average worker in the United States from corporate self interest? I'm wondering who is protecting and defending the workers interests in a corporate run society? If corporations don't care about paying the average american worker decent living wages, and they are only concerned about their own self interests, who then is protecting the average american worker from corporate self interest?
Is the government protecting the people from corporate greed by requiring fair wages and payouts and benefits?
Is there a national workers right union available to protect Americans from corporate greed by making sure they don't get away from exploiting American workers?
If there is I am not aware of it.
So, back to the issue of Corporate personhood, the 99% movement or some in the 99% movement are saying that corporations should not be recognized as persons by the U.S. governments that they should not be treated by the same measure as human beings.
Well, they are being recognized as that because money talks. And today I heard that the movement is saying we should have publically funded elections, and I agree.
So, in this discussion I my take on all of this is that, corporations have gone too far to protect their own individual interests. And, have forgotten about the people who have gotten them to where they are...which is the community and people that support them and work for them. In which ever land they are at. So yes, I completely agree with the 99% percent movement on this issue.
Enough is enough!!! Corporations and big money shouldn't just be the ones with a voice on how things are run in our country no, sir! We the people need to have a word in as well , and more so then the corporations because we support and make corporations what they are by our sweat and blood, and effort.
I believe that the movement will be successful if they keep thier eye on the prize. And what is the prize equal rights. And this time it isn't a fight against equal rights against and English King or Monarch no, no,no this time, It's a fight against equal rights against the corporate heads and CEO'S that run the corporations and big businesses of the entire world.
They run the show now, and they've gotten too greedy,...can anyone make them accountable. Is there anyone group or organization that can make them pay, and treat workers world wide with dignity and respect in regards to work conditions and pay.
I don't know we'll see. Who knows the next chapter and how history as we know it will unfold.
